Ark Y Chew XXT Royal Blue

#OC01 Ark Y Chew XXT Royal Blue

ARK's Y-Chews are a safe way to exercise the mouth muscles, build oral tone, practice biting and chewing skills, and provide tactile sensory input to the lips, tongue, cheeks, and jaw. They're also a safe alternative to biting on one's fingers, knuckles, shirts, pencils, etc. Their texture can also help decrease oral defensiveness, reduce food aversions, and normalize sensitivities (both hypo and hypersensitivities).

ARK's Y-Chew XXT® is our toughest oral motor chew tool made out of the same "Xtra Xtra Tough" material as their popular Grabber XXT

It's super firm, and so recommended for avid chewers and/or those who like to chew on very tough items.  Because it has three different extensions to chew on, this chew tool tends to last the longest for the most avid chewers.  Each extension has its own texture (smooth, ribbed, or bumpy) for a varied sensory experience.  Use the Y-Chew to exercise the lips, tongue, cheeks, and especially the jaw, allowing the mouth to learn and grow strong through oral exploration. It can also be used:

  • As an oral fidget for sensory seekers craving oral input and stimulation
  • As a safe alternative to biting/chewing on fingers, shirts, and other hazardous non-food items
  • To decrease thumb sucking, tooth grinding, and finger/knuckle biting
  • To practice biting/chewing skills without the risk of choking
  • To improve jaw strength, jaw stability, tongue movement, and other feeding skills
  • To satisfy the urge to chew for individuals who are fed through a g-tube
  • To build oral tone, strength, mobility, control, coordination, and endurance
  • To decrease oral sensitivities, oral defensiveness, and food aversions

usa-flag.jpg ARK manufactures these chew tools in the USA! They're constructed out of medical grade, FDA compliant materials that contain NO lead, phthalates, PVC, BPA, or latex. They're also molded out of one solid piece of material with no holes or crevices that could harbor saliva or bacteria.

triangle.jpeg Caution: although these chew tools are made out of sturdy, medical grade materials, they are not indestructible. Some individuals (particularly those with heavy oral needs and aggressive biting/chewing) may be able to damage the tools.  How long they last may depend on the oral sensory needs of the child as well as other variables.  Please supervise at all times and replace if necessary when the item shows signs of wear and tear.  Insider tip: encourage individuals to chew on every extension to more evenly distribute the chewing.
